layers

choreography & direction Nicole Livieratos

Layers was created as a combination visual installation & performance. Starting with blank paper on the floor & walls & with empty costumes, the perfomers layer experiences and embroidery stitches onto the space and costumes as the piece progresses.

Audiences add to the installation post performance.

“The condensed, multifaceted work was emotionally vivid, incisive, evocative and entrancing from start to finish, leaving a sensation that lingered underneath the sternum like a soft, penetrating ring."
